Obituary for Mary Mariko Miyaji

MIYAJI, MARY MARIKO (102), passed away on February 8, 2016 in LA.  She is survived by her children, Harry (Brook) Miyaji, Joyce Miyaji and Roger (Gail) Miyaji; grandchildren, Linda (Christopher) Wolff, Tracy (Jody) Bjerkeset, Masa (Sheryl) Seki, Heidi (Carter) Austin, Shauna Reather; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A private graveside service was held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Calvary Cemetery with Fr. Doan Hoang from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Chapel officiating

I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like Mary lived a long and love-filled life. I know that losing a loved one is always difficult, but I hope you can find comfort in the promise found in the scriptures. (Acts 24:15 & Revelation 21:4). May the God of comfort help you through this difficult time and may you look forward to a time when you will be reunited with your mother. My deepest condolences are with you and your families.

Mrs Mary Miyaji was one of the strongest women I have ever known. Until a few years ago, she would take public transportation and walk to the Thursday Ladies’s Group at St Francis Xavier Catholic Community Center (aka Maryknoll). She would be grateful for a ride home and it was amazing to see her climb up her hilly area walkway to her front door. She was independent, kind, opinionated, and loved coffee candy, a special memory. May she rest in peace but live within our hearts. Eternal rest grant unto her.
