Obituary for Ryo Komae

(98), WWII Veteran, passed away on December 19, 2016 in Torrance, CA.  Ryo was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA.  He was an alumnus of USC where he earned a degree in Pharmacy.  He owned and operated Gardena Pharmacy for many years and was involved in numerous community activities throughout his life. He is predeceased by his son, Stan Komae and survived by his wife of 70 years, Jean Komae; sons, Glenn (Stephanie) and Kent (Jody) Komae; grandchildren, Elisabeth, Aaron, Russell (Jennifer), Darrin, Collin (Shannon), Bryce and Amie Komae, Marcy (Jerry) Binuya, Stacie (Anthony) Madlangbayan; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Kimi Nakamura; sisters-in-law, Mary and Masa Fukui; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Gardena Valley Baptist Church, 1630 W. 158th St., Gardena.
