Please accept our deepest sympathy over the passing of dear Aya. She was always feisty, sharp and alert, even to the very end of her life-- knowing everyone’s business and the answer to every question. She fought for what she believed in and was my ichiban supporter at Maryknoll. She will never be forgotten, will be missed, and is truly loved.

The “Rock” of the family has left us, but her proud legacy is the raising of some of the finest human beings her sons and daughters had become.
Thank you, Aya, for your years of concern and kindness to others. Your sharp mind and reassuring presence will be missed. I will always have the fond memories of you from my childhood while visiting the Teramoto Blanchard Street compound.

Visits to your house will never be the same.

With awe and deepest admiration,

Fred Fukunaga
