May God bless the Yasuhara family during this time of sadness.

Yasuko Maria Louisa will always be in my heart, as she has been in my life for as long as I remember. I will remember her kindness, her smile and her laugh, her stories, her love of her dogs, our conversations in skosh English, skosh Spanish, skosh Japanese. I will remember working next to her while she’d teach me to create salsa, carne asada and frijoles. I will remember how she gave me her nurtured baby avocado tree with specific instructions to plant it on the eve of El Dia de los muertos when the moon came out. May perpetual light shine upon her and may she rest in peace.

Con mucho sentimiento escribo estas palabras.
