Obituary for Richard Utaka Shinto

SHINTO, RICHARD UTAKA (85) veteran of WWII 442nd R.C.T., “I” Company, passed away on April 21, 2010 in Montebello.  He is survived by his wife, Louise Setsuko Shinto; children; Dr. Rick (Patee) Shinto, Sharon (Ron) Imada, and Dr. Paul (Vicki) Shinto; grandchildren, Jonathan and Alyssa Shinto, Brett and Eryn Imada, Lauren, Todd, and M. Hunter Shinto; brothers, Jack (Joanne) of New Mexico, and Edward (Chiye) Shinto;  brothers-in-law, Allan (Frances) and Steve (Sumi) Kobata; sisters-in-law, Jean and Helen Kobata;  also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11:00AM at Grace First Presbyterian Church, 3955 North Studebaker Road, Long Beach, CA with Rev. Mitchell Young from Montebello Plymouth Congregational Church officiating.  Family requests that flowers be omitted.
