Obituary for Joe Kokubun

KOKUBUN, Joe (89) peacefully passed away on November 7, 2008 in Valencia. He is survived by his wife, Shigeko Kokubun; daughters, Patty (Brian) Kaneko, Donna (Russell) Kaneko, and Janice (Dave) Davis; grand-sons, Troy and Kory Kashiwabara; brother, Rev. Kei (Elaine) Kokubun; brother-in-law, Ken (Amy) Kyosai; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Private memorial service was held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Grace Chapel at Inglewood Park Cemetery with Rev. Mark Nakagawa from Centenary United Methodist Church officiating. Kubota Nikkei Mortuary, Directors (213) 749-1449.

Joe, may you rest in piece. I am sorry this message is years late but I want you to know that I will always remember you as a kind and gentle person with a heart of gold. I still see your smile and hear your laugh and how much you enjoyed being with your family and friends. I have many good memories from those times.
