Obituary for Scott Sachio Shintani

SHINTANI, Scott Sachio (37) passed away on December 10, 2008 in Los Angeles. He is survived by his mother, Jane Shintani; fiancé, Sandra Quintero; daughter, Tailer Shintani; siblings, Steven (Cherryl) Shintani, Sherri (Akira) Hirai, Stanley (Maria) Shintani, and Sandy (Ronald) Hanada; sister-in-law, Harumi (George) Yanase; nieces, Kristin Shintani, Janae Hirai, Pilar “Letty” Shintani, and Kelsee Hazama; uncles and aunties, Masaye Kato, Florence Nakagiri, Margie Morikawa, Shigemi (Donna) Nakagiri, Jim (Mary) Nakagiri, Bob Nakagiri, June (Jimmy) Akioka, Mieko Shintani, Luiko (Masakazu) Hamaguchi, Jane Shintani, Yoshiko Shintani; also survived by numerous cousins and other relatives.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 7:30 PM at Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 12371 Braddock Drive, Culver City, CA.  Additional parking is available at the Venice Japanese Community Center, 12448 Braddock Drive, LA, CA.  Family requests casual or Hawaiian attire and omission of flowers.

My sincerest thoughts and prayers go out to his family; espcially his mom, daughter, fiance, brother and sisters. Scotty was a great friend to me for many years; I am only sorry I just now heard about this. Earth lost another angel; his humor and personality will be greatly missed.
