Obituary for Kayora Alice Ikeda

IKEDA, Kayora Alice

Alice, 97 years old, passed away peacefully at her home in WLA on July 25, 2013. Alice was born near Penryn, California, to Itono Tanaka Okumoto and Kansaburo Okumoto.

Alice will be missed by her loving husband of 70 years, Michito Stanley; her three children, Irene (Kenneth) Hirose, Robert (Lillian) Ikeda, and Andy (Savita) Ikeda; her two grandchildren, Taylor (Michelle) Hirose and Lisa Ikeda; her great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hirose; many relatives and caregivers.

Alice had a deep passion for sewing, art, cooking, and traveling the world, visiting oer 50 counties. Her vegetable garden was legendary, always vibrant and plentiful. She loved to tell stories, which always gathered large audiences and hearty laughs. Alice's warm smile was infectious and will be sorely missed by all her friends and family.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM on August 3, 2013 at the West Los Angeles Buddhist Temple, 2003 Corinth Ave., West Los Angeles, CA.

To the Ikeda family,
I am so sorry for your loss and especially to Mr. Ikeda. Mrs. Ikeda was a lovely lady, full of laughter and she always had something funny to say. She’s at peace and will always be looking over you to keep you safe from danger and harm.
With deepest sympathy,
Darlene Buxton (Minato)
I will be attending the service with my Mom, hope to see you (Andy).
