Obituary for Michi Grace Uematsu

UEMATSU, MICHI (86) peacefully passed away on March 5, 2009 in Costa Mesa. She is survived by her son, Greg (Patty) Uematsu; daughter, Jeri Uematsu; grand-children, Aaron Hamilton, Danny Uematsu Jr. and Erin; sister-in-laws, Lily Uyeda and Sue Uematsu; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 11:00AM at Wintersburg Presbyterian Church, 2000 N. Fairview St. Santa Ana, CA. Family requests that flowers be omitted.

Please accept the condolences of the Leon family. I have communicated with my younger brother who remembers a childhood playmate, Deaney Uematsu son of Michi who was mother of family neighbors in Rodger Young Village, a veterans housing project next to Griffith Park in the late 1940s. My parents, Ramiro & Beatrice Leon, who have passed away, kept in touch with the Uematsus for a time after the Village closed down and we all moved on. Rest in Peace, Michi.
