Obituary for Akitaka Yonemitsu

YONEMITSU, AKITAKA (74), passed away on January 14, 2015 in LA.  He is survived by his wife, Miyoko Yonemitsu; children, Mike, Ken (Satoko) and Junichi (Julie) Yonemitsu; grandchildren, Hannah, Jillian, and Justin Yonemitsu; siblings, Hidetaka Yonemitsu, Takako (Shigeru) Kamimura, and Kazuyo (Haruo) Ito from Japan; brothers-in-law, Yukito Tsurudome from Japan and Masatake (Leah) Kawamoto; sisters-in-law, Kazue Okamoto and Ryoko (Takuya) Suzuki; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 4PM at LA Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 815 E. 1st St., LA.

We just found out today.
Aki was a very likeable in the office. He was many engineers’s mentor in Los Angeles County - Dept. of Public Works.
It’s also a great loss for may engineers in our Dept.

Dear Yonemitsu Family,

I recently became aware of the passing of Aki.
You have our deepest sympathies for your loss. Aki was a wonderful person. We worked together at LA County and I know that he was a mentor to many engineers in Design Division. He will be greatly missed by all.
